PCC News - September 2008

The PCC met on September 10th, when the following matters were discussed:-

Michael King - The PCC held a minute's silence in memory of PCC member Michael King.

Reordering - Work started on September 1st, partial boarding of roof space. WREN grant had been confirmed, but PR plan required as part of grant. Paul had organised this. Finances would be tight and Buildings and Finance Group would look at further grant funding. Roof leak discovered, contractors to attend. Mick had approached local churches if required for funerals during works. Final items to be removed from church after Baptism services on September 21st. Organ to be dismantled and moved to Dijon in France to be reassembled in church there

Finance - Overall, giving was holding steady. Organ Fund started and this would be banked into Fabric Fund but donations separately itemised. Letters to be sent out to all congregation families seeking donations to organ replacement fund. A visit to be arranged to St. Giles Church, Exhall, to listen to their replacement organ.

Worship & Spirituality Group - Advent meditations and bible study to be arranged. Oberammergau trip - most people happy to join with St. Nicholas Church group.

Pastoral & Social Group - No meeting

Building & Finance Group - To meet to discuss further funding grants

Monday Maintenance Group - Notice board completed

Christmas Bazaar - Possibly December 6th or 14th - to be further discussed when we had more idea regarding work

Bedworth Brass Concert - December 12th

Carol Service - December 21st

Sunday Club Nativity - December 21st

Carol Singing at Kingswood Court - December 16th
