PCC News - May 2008

The PCC met on May 14th, when the following matters were discussed:-

Election of Officers - The following were elected for one year

    Treasurer - Gary King

    Secretary - Ann Murray

    Gift Aid Secretary - Michael King

    Electoral Roll Officer - Anne Murray

Christian Aid Week - Slow take up of events on offer.

Reordering - Two meetings had taken place with architect and a brief report was given as follows. Erection of additional store to match existing boiler house and creche - PCC approved. Necessary approvals would be sought. Organ had been registered as available if anyone required pipe organ. Interest from France, but awaiting further information. Chairs - committee to visit factory to test and ascertain suitability. Proposed lighting explained - 8 main and 8 wall lights plus spots. Invitation to tender to be issued by May 23rd to be returned by end of June with a view to commencement of work in September.

Finance - Envelope collection covering £3000 per month required by Diocese, but occasional service collections down, reflected by fewer funerals and weddings in Church.

Management Groups - Minutes circulated.

Mission & Outreach Group - Health & Safety Policy discussed with regard to kitchen in particular. Draft policy would be obtained with a view to implementing this. Mother & Toddler Group required CRB checked volunteers to run sessions for older children on Thursday mornings during summer holidays.

Summer Gala - New ideas required for stalls.

Maintenance Group - PCC approved cost of new notice board. Patio to be laid outside Parish Centre French door. Churchyard to be reviewed next year.
