PCC News - January 2008

The PCC met on 16th January when the following matters were discussed:-

Churchyard - Tree overhanging bus stop to be pruned.

Reordering - Father Mick had chased up Diocesan Registrar, particularly in view of WREN grant which is only available for one year.

Youth Worker - Further information should be available in February/March.

Finance - Deficit in December, and about £860 down on income over the year. Parish share this year is £36,000, and at present we are about £60 short weekly of amount required just for share. Hopefully, VAT reclaim on roof work. Parish Centre fees had been increased.

Social & Pastoral Management Group - Patronal Meal on January 29th. Dates for annual events fixed.

Worship & Spirituality Management Group - Quiet Day arranged. Lent course in hand. 2010 Oberammergau trip being looked into.

Buildings & Finance Management Group - WREN bid successful. Dog fouling in Churchyard - council would be asked to provide notice. Notice boards are next project for Monday Maintenance Group.

Mission & Outreach Management Group - Monthly Family service seems successful. Colin would provide Powerpoint training for any groups wishing to run service. Youth groups may need more input and work with schools. Further thought to be given to Advent/Christmas Festival.

AOB - Refurbishment of George Eliot plaque - funding available for work.

CCTV - grant obtained for additional cameras to north and east walls.
