PCC News - February 2009 The PCC met on February 11th, when the following matters were discussed:- Feedback - Very positive feedback from recent services - enjoyable services with two visiting bishops
Reordering - Mark to meet Paul for 'walkabout' regarding reordering Finance - Finances tight, but Fr. Mick felt our two main priorities were to continue to pay parish share in full and maintain charity giving Organ - Considerable discussion took place, and it was felt a cheaper option should be considered. Firms could be asked to bring organ to be tried out and commented on by congregation to find suitable replacement Furniture - Purchase of new altar furniture would have to be delayed until funds were available, as it was not felt that loans would be a viable option, particularly in view of current economic climate. Estimate for projector and screen between £5500 and £7500 - again this would have to wait until funds available. The Church was fully functional at present, and new furniture and equipment could be purchased as and when funds allowed. Worship & Spirituality Group - Lent course and summer talks had been discussed Mission & Outreach Group - had discussed, in the main, additional use of the church hall Pastoral & Social Group - Various fund-raising ideas had been put forward Building & Finance Group - Various 'snags' had been identified from reordering. Further work had been done regarding proposed youth worker. Wheelchair access was discussed. |
