The main purpose
of the Mothers Union is to be specifically concerned with all that
strengthens
and preserves
marriage and Christian family life. It is a worldwide organisation and has
more
than 1,000,000
members in more than 70 countries. In Stockingford, we meet once a month
when we have guest
speakers, demonstrations and visits to interesting places. We take part
in Deanery
services and social activities at other branches.
The Mothers
Union is open to all, married or single, and not necessarily mothers!
We help out with
various activities within the Church.
We are linked with
St. Martin's Mothers Union in Harare, Zimbabwe, and the Coventry Diocese
is linked with
Zambia, Madagascar and Nigeria. We helped them setup a tailoring school in
Ndola, Zambia, by
supplying sewing machines and materials.
