Church Re-ordering

The work on reordering the church building finally began in September, after the delays caused by the need to go to a consistory court to obtain the faculty.

This means that the cost of the work has risen since the project was first conceived, and a separate organ fund has had to be launched as we can no longer afford the new organ in the money available.

The old organ was taken out, piece by piece, loaded onto a lorry and has now arrived safely in Dijon (France) where Paschal is rebuilding it in a Catholic church which is reopening after 25 years.  We are invited to attend the commissioning service, hopefully in April next year.

We need to record our thanks to WREN who have given a grant of £50,000 towards the fund for the reordering, helping to pay for the community aspects of the new build.  WREN grants are available towards the costs of community based projects within areas close to landfill sites (such as Judkins). Further information about WREN, and how to apply for grants can be found at www.wren.org.uk

Any contributions to either the building fund or the organ fund can be made via Church or by contacting Paul West, church warden, on 024 7639 5490.
